About the Artist

My name is Denvar and I’ve loved horses from the age of two. Drawing came later at four when my mom took a painting course in college. She was painting a landscape scene with a horse in it. It blew my mind. I didn’t know you could “make” something. I begged my mom to teach me. She did the best she could, and the rest is “history”. I never stopped. I was the horse-crazy girl, sister, daughter, granddaughter. I don’t need to go into detail about all the crazy things I did, lol. I got my first horse at 6. I named her Misty because I remember at the end of the movie Misty, I bawled my eyes out and said, “if I ever get a horse, I’m naming it Misty”. I owned her for 29 years!

I was told that I needed to learn to draw other things besides horses and I am glad I took that advice but now that I am an adult Ive learned that life is to short and that I should do what I love instead of something others want me to do. I truly hope that you find my horses as beautiful as I do, thank you for being here. It means the world to me.
